About Us
Papua New Guinea Ministry of International Trade and Investment was created by Marape Rosso Government on the 4th of August 2022. The Ministry is created to stimulate Economic Growth Rate through Revenue Generation by replacing Imports and increase direct Exports.
The Ministry is led by Member for Yangoru Saussia District, Hon. Richard Maru, BTech, MBA, OBE, MP as the Minister for International Trade & Investment. Member for Rai – Coast District, Hon. Kessy Sawang is the Vice for the Ministry. The Ministry is responsible for all the matters related to Port Moresby Stock Exchange, Security Commissions of PNG, Special Economic Zone Authority, Pacific Marine Industrial Zone (PMIZ), Konebada Petroleum Park, and National Trade Office.
The Ministry takes serious approach into Special Economic Zones to be the Primary Driver of PNG Economic Growth. The SEZ’s are cateorigised into the following areas;

- Free Trade Zones
- Technology Parks
- Economic Regions
- Tourism Zones
- Processing Zones
